Moonbirds announced their new north star as being fully focused on art. This proposal embraces that idea. There are no gimmicks or tricks. It is an opportunity for a community member (and day-one nester) to use their knowledge and passion to build a beautiful generative art collection and bring this space we all love so much to a greater audience. I will also keep the Proof community abreast of any new pieces added to the collection.

- Convert funds to ETH

Support artists and bring awareness of the generative art movement to Ireland, a country with a deep and rich history in the arts. Commentary on generative art has been unusually absent in Irish discourse.

Convert the funding to ETH and stake. Potentially use a small amount of the initial capital to kickstart the collection with a significant piece (e.g. Vera Molnár) and use the yield from staking to add to the collection over time. Also, leave open the option to use some of the capital for what might be considered an important drop (e.g. the recent Distant collection by William Mapan).

The yield may seem small however after a few months the fund would be in a position to collect (as an example) a piece from Color Study by Jeff Davis which is incredibly exciting when you consider it.

As you will see below I have demonstrated in the past my ability to curate a world class art collection on an extremely constrained budget.

There is also tremendous generative art below 0.1E across the Art Blocks collection. The most recent Braindrops release, Mappings by Ira Greenberg, was 0.1E to mint so there is plenty of scope to build a varied and interesting collection to showcase the world of generative art to an Irish audience.

As the staking rewards accumulate and compound over time, the collection can in theory run forever.

Support artists through thoughtful curation made possible by the staking of ETH (funding converted to ETH). Use the yield (and potentially some capital initially) to create a generative art collection. Use the collection to build awareness of this burgeoning art movement, in Ireland, a country with a rich history in the arts but one where there is very little commentary on generative art.

Because this is a pure art proposal I do not see any risks here. The goal is to carefully curate a generative art collection on a relatively small budget and I have proven in the past that I am capable of doing this.

The main aim of this proposal is to ensure a monthly minimum payment of $2,000 USDC to the winning artist. This request for funding will enable us to provide a monetary prize to the winning artist each month, enhancing community engagement, and also maintain a reserve for website maintenance, ongoing development, and marketing efforts.

Each month kicks off with the announcement of a fresh theme for artists to freely interpret. Over the first two weeks, any Moonbirds holder anonymously submit their artwork. Subsequently, we open the voting phase, where the community, with each Moonbird allotted 5 votes, selects their preferred pieces while artist identities remain concealed.

The winning artwork is announced on the 19th of each month, with the artist's identity still undisclosed. Minting of the winning piece starts on the 20th of each month, but it's crucial to emphasize that minting is exclusively available to those who cast their votes for the winning artwork. Lastly, on the 25th of each month, once minting concludes, we unveil the artist's name.

Here, it takes on one of art’s most relatable forms in communication, recognising and allowing all our inner creatives to bloom.

This is an action initiated by the holders, sustained through the pervasiveness &amp; virality of the web, while staying true to the north star of celebrating art and creativity. Parameters and templates will be provided for creative contributions from the whole community and beyond. Working within these parameters, users can be the creators and suggest ideas on what they want to create and use, and make these available for the rest of the community.

This phase will open up the fully built EmojiBox for use to other CC0 projects and those who choose to license their IP. Project owners can request to “unchain” (unlock the use of the assets from just living on the blockchain) their projects for use or community members can request to “unchain” their specific assets for use – at a cost. The cost for this would be used to maintain the tool and continue creating designs for new graphics to use in EmojiBox, including those for the OG community of Moonbirds.

This project will build a browser-based tool to allow unlocking of digital assets for use as expressions across different communication platforms – no editing, coding, or other technical expertise required. It combines the use of algorithms, art and design to generate graphics, and will focus on the EmojiBox. The full vision would include a future second component that is a .gif generation engine, the .gifBox.

This generates the first set of digital emoji/sticker pack (10-15) based on the birb, give a chance to customise (e.g. add text), then be exported to communications apps (e.g. WhatsApp). Subject to the capabilities of the platform, these may be kept exclusive or shared. 

Creators can also contribute directly to the library of emojis and possible customisations. We will build the rails to enable creators to contribute to the brand building process, for themselves, for their assets, and for the wider community. As the LS enables the creation of the tool, the EmojiBox will be initially for exclusive use for MBs, with the intention of powering (paid) use for other communities and retaining continued free use and unlocking new graphics for MBs.

A cross-platform tool to make emoji packs based on your NFT. In a few clicks, holders can generate a set of graphics based on their Moonbird for use in apps they use for daily communications (e.g. WhatsApp) that represents them, and even share them for wider use. This will be initially exclusive and free to use for MB holders, with the intention of opening it up for paid use by other communities.

Resourcing & advising (Mark Pavlyukovskyy)
Founder and investor, Mark exited his first company, Piper after raising $15m in VC funding from top investors in silicon valley and the world in 2018. 

He was invited to go to New Zealand during the pandemic and started a $15m VC fund investing into the local tech ecosystem: https://www.nzvc.co.nz/ To date the fund has backed over 35 innovative companies including 7 crypto ones. 

He is also a partner at a blockchain development studio (MCB) where they've developed extensive NFT and crypto projects: https://mycreativitybox.com/

He has a degree from Princeton and dropped out of his Machine Learning PhD at Oxford to pursue his first company. He will be leading the MCB team that will develop this project.

During the recent Mythics launch, Colin's vulnerable story about his art career led to a whirlwind of supportive Twitter activity. Folks across this community shared their own stories about facing the Dred, overcoming adversity, cultivating resiliency, and living more wholeheartedly. These stories were profound and inspiring, but they were also relatable. We all have our own darkness to confront.  

The Proof team recognizes this collective truth and leaned into integrating the deeper layers of the human experience into the Mythics lore, e.g., Justin tweeted that the collection is "a story about what it means to come up against seemingly insurmountable odds, and to hold strong with those convictions. To look fear in the face and declare that it won't have the last word."
I propose creating more content that supports and aligns with this journey.

For example, The Daily Countdown focuses primarily on economic updates and current events, while Proof Signal focuses on community happenings and the broader NFT market. Although the 100 Proof show does periodically include artist spotlights, these segments are generally brief, not regularly recorded, and they focus on anecdotal descriptions of recent events, drops, and creations rather than in-depth interviews.

We’ll be benchmarking Holo's social media posts and engagement against our prior web2 social campaigns to develop baselines and quantify the media value of Holo's content and activations. 

We intend to drive value back to Moonbird holders in perpetuity without the Lunar Society’s ongoing financial support. We see an opportunity to build a turn-key model global brands can leverage to connect with web3 communities / NFT enthusiasts in meaningful ways that enables win-win scenarios for all stakeholders.

The Lunar Society was built to empower creators in the Moonbirds community to build alongside the team and brand -  We’ve been building alongside our favorite projects & founding teams for over a year driving value while proving this concept. 

Our team is made up of 2 key individuals: 1) An illustrator with over a decade of experience with big brands and whose work appears on award winning primetime television 2) An agency founder with 2 decades experience building programs and ad campaigns for global brands incl. Visa, Ford, Virgin Mobile, NHL, MLB and others. In April ‘22 we conceptualized Holo and have been creating experiences and content for VaynerSports Pass (Founded by AJ Vaynerchuk) ever since. Access to liquidity at reasonable prices is directly correlated to both community sentiment as well as "Floor Price go up". 

This also solves the "buy back floor birbs" everlasting conversation. We can have both a lend to earn & lend to own approach. On the lend to own approach, the DAO will still earn yield, while accruing birbs for a % of the Floor Price. 

With Art being the focus & many of the curated Proof drops being low liquidity collections, we have an opportunity to seize a gap in the market as the DeFi side of NFT's is booming, while lending on most digital art is still in its' infancy stage.

The NFT world has seen trends towards concentration of capital & financial services in the top collections, which creates a feedback loop of positive sentiment, increased eyes on the project, and yield earning activities that make it much easier to grow our ecosystem through happy holders (which tend to buy from the same ecosystem) & new customer acquisition/excitement for joining MoonBirds/Mythics.  All while earning revenue for The Lunar Society.

We propose funding of $50,000 for development costs & initial liquidity (if anything is leftover). A 2nd round of funding may be requested in order to have sufficient capital for liquidity pools & yield earning activities around lending/borrowing.

- Market risk: If the floor drops below our loan value and the loan defaults we would be acquiring a piece at a price above market. We would record this loss and keep track of the overall performance of the program, which as mentioned previously, don't all need to be profitable for tge strategy as a whole to be considered a success.

- Concentration risk: We will monitor concentration in terms of counter-parties & maturities. Being the latter especially relevant as if there is a sudden drop in prices, most loans maturing around that date could default.

- Credit risk: Obviously limited by the collateral.

It is important to mention that, in addition to the above risks, there is an opportunity cost as we will be earning yield constantly, rather than funds sitting in an account dormant.

Relationships with outside funds/whales who would also be interested in lending to MB.

We aim to remain lean, hiring a front-end dev & also build bots that will assist in general, smaller sized collection offers, while also being programmed to toggle offers based on intraday trading & variance. Potentially contract a Graphic Designer (will need to speak about trademarks/assets with Proof team to see whether or not we will need this).
