What is it?

Lets have a bit of fun in the community! I am proposing that we set up online events every 2-4 weeks across different games/quizzes. Some of the games that have been suggested that holders are keen to play are:

Poker

Pictionary

Among Us

Jackbox

Mario Kart 8 (Requires Nintendo Switch)

Super Smash Bros (Requires Nintendo Switch)

Mario Party (Requires Nintendo Switch)

Fortnite (Requires PC/Console)

Rocket League (Requires PC/Console)

Fall Guys (Requires PC/Console)

Other game suggestions are more than welcomed.

Games which have clear winners we will use part of the $2k allocation to reward the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

I anticipate the $2,000 will be enough to reward 3-4 community nights.

This will be Season 1; depending on the success of this will see more seasons which could include holders vs PROOF team battling it out, and a weekly leaderboard.

To make it risk-free, I am happy for the $2,000 to be left in the Lunar Society wallet, or managed by a PROOF team member, and transacted on once instructed.

I will not be taking any payment for organising these events. Equally I will need some help organising these especially so we get as many timezones involved as possible. So please reach out if you want to contribute.

A couple of simple rules will be imposed once they've been agreed upon. I suggest participants must be present in the Discord VC during the event and also winners are not eligible to win again the following week, this will reduce the chances of impostors and give people a chance at winning.

How does it benefit the Moonbirds and Mythics holder community?

Something fun to do, with the added bonus of winning prizes. We will create lasting memories and build good relationships.

About the team

I am passionate about the community and turn up in the discord every day. On top of this enthusiasm, I also love to game. Combining the two feels like a no-brainer. I am used to organising online events - having started on FIFA tournaments and Unreal Tournament 2004 clan scrimmages. I then became a moderator on an extremely popular Runescape forum and held weekly events, managing anywhere between 20-100 concurrent players.

Product strategy

I want to get the first game night scheduled ASAP! We will probably start "light" for the first 2-3 gaming nights and stick to games that everyone can enjoy. Such as Poker and Catan, as these are browser based free games. Depending on turnout, we can then start testing the waters with more specific console games.

What are the risks?

There are no risks as I am only requesting a small amount, which I am happy to let the Lunar Society wallet hold, and I am not taking any money from running this. If it is a success then I will create future proposals to seek more money.

What will the money actually be spent on? Do you expect any other money to come in related to this project, e.g. revenues?

100% of the money will be used towards prizes. How we structure those prizes is TBC. Maybe 1st to 3rd win something, and we will exclude them from winning the next event (if approved) just so it gives more players a chance to win. If any community members wish to donate into the pool then they are free to do so, but for now we will use the $2000 to fund 3-4 events as a "trial".
