What is it?

Flybirds is an original video game, designed just for Moonbirds and inspired by the CC0 art movement. In this game, players step into the feathers of the Moonbird - the universe's unique art collector. Players glide through a beautiful, magical forest - collecting works of art, Moonbirds eggs and shiny things.

All pieces from the Diamond Exhibition are collectible in this demo. Once collected, art is viewable in HD within the game and iPhone app. Links to artist, work of art, and OpenSea collection are presented - transporting players to the web to learn more and collect.

About the team

Kwik is a game designer and programmer, with 36 shipped titles over a 20+ year career in the games business. Team also includes a highly skilled Unity game programmer; 3D artists and animators; and an operations manager.

The Moonbirds CC0 announcement inspired the game design and formation of our team. Moonbirds is an incredible IP and we are thankful to have a chance to build games on it!

Marketing:

Capturing and holding attention with a game is a hard problem! Here is our approach to solving it:

First - make a GREAT product so the game spreads by word-of-mouth

Second - launch as a traditional iPhone, Android and web game to cover 80-90% of the world's devices

Third - win the hearts and minds of Moonbirds with a game *so good* the community wants to help spread the word!

Events & Fresh Content:

Holding events for Moonbirds holders to perfect a competition model, then expanding to new communities, with a focus on those who might collect Moonbirds. Keep the game fresh with daily levels, adding new content for new art collections.

What are the risks?

Risk: web3 gaming schemes - attracting financial degens; cryptocurrency scams; various scams and Ponzi schemes

Mitigation: no cryptocurrency, no minting from game, no wallet connect on mobile devices. Limiting web3 features also enables us to publish the game on all traditional gaming markets.

Risk: what if the team lacks capability to finish the game?

Mitigation: the core gameplay has been prototyped to demonstrate operational qualities on Web and mobile devices. Hard challenges were tackled first - this operational prototype stands as proof.

Risk: Moonbirds is CC0 and creative control is in the hands of creators… what if we create story or lore which contradict the principles of Moonbirds?

Mitigation: the game design will stick to the simple principles one can observe about Moonbirds and avoid story development or complicated lore.

What will the money actually be spent on? Do you expect any other money to come in related to this project, e.g. revenues?

Budget: $50k USDC for a team of 4-6 people for 4 months

• 1 Operations Manager (everything else)

Design $9k, Engineering $22k, 3D Art & Animation $12k

1. In app purchases - traditional IAP for coins and collectibles

2. Sponsorships - integrated sponsorships (optional)
