What is it?

I want to start the first Moonbird-sponsored AI Art community in Western Australia.



Why? There is a problem. Western Australia has a population of over 2 million people, and a thriving arts scene, but there is no community organized around helping AI artists and enthusiasts connect, create, and collect AI Art. Literally, there are no meetups, no gatherings, no courses, nothing!

To solve this problem, I want to start a monthly Moonbird-sponsored event series in which Western Australians who make, collect, or are interested in AI art can get together, share, and learn about the movement.

How will it work? For each event, an AI Art expert will give an educational talk about an AI-Art-related topic, followed by a raffle of 1 free legendary Mythics egg to one lucky attendee. The events will be promoted in all relevant tech and arts hubs in the area.

After the first 6 months of events, I hope to have established an AI art community in the state, and through the monthly Mythic Eggs raffles and Moonbird Sponsorship, I hope to position us as the Art Collector's pfp in the area. Moonbirds will be the main sponsor of the events.

How does it benefit the Moonbirds and Mythics holder community?

Very few people in the arts scene here know what Moonbirds are.

By launching the first Moonbirds-sponsored AI Art Event Series in Western Australia, this project will be helping the Moonbirds brand be discovered by hundreds (possibly thousands) of people in our target audience (web3 and trad art enthusiasts), within Australia. Not only that, by giving away 6 Mythic Eggs, we will be onboarding at least 6 new community members. The goal is to help position MBs as the Art Collector's community i

About the team

I’m the right person for the job because I have a proven track record of building large and engaged communities on the internet for the past 8 years.

I was Community Growth director at Depop when we were just starting in the USA (now they have over 21 millions users). I’ve done Community growth consulting at companies like Superrare, Nike, and Ephemeral Tattoos and I’ve been building my own communities around passion projects, for fun, for many years. I started @pinlord, @potteryforall, @macramemakers, and many other large accounts on Instagram (they jointly have over 800K followers) and I ran NYC's Instagram Growth Hackers Meetups for over 3 years.

I love building communities, and I think building a community around AI Art in this area would be the best way I can do my part in helping position the Moonbirds brand as the Art Collector’s pfp.

Product strategy


The plan is simple:

1) Launch a website.

2) Get a venue sponsor (I've already found one likely to say yes https://spacecubed.com/space/riff/).

3) Host 6 events (1 per month), that will have three basic elements.

A) An educational talk about AI art.

B) A raffle where we give away 1 free Mythic Egg and talk about Moonbirds (the champions of digital art) as the sponsor.

C) Have a boozy meet and greet.

I aim to do the first event within 30 days of the proposal getting funded.

Promotion: The events will be promoted in all relevant tech and arts hubs in the area. I’m also part of the local “Degens” Twitter group and will tap into the audience of the likely location sponsor, https://spacecubed.com/space/riff/, who already sponsors the biggest start-up meetup in the area.

What are the risks?

The main risks of this event are:

1) Not enough people showing up. Since there is no AI Art hub in the area, I don’t know exactly how many people are interested in the topic. To mitigate this risk, I will be doing as much promotion as I can within the local web3, art, and NFT communities.

2) Price of Mythic Eggs going up. I’ve asked for 4.5 ETH to buy 6 Legendary Mythic Eggs from the floor. If the price of them goes up between now and funding, I will not have enough ETH to buy them and include them in the sponsorship. I'm not currently doing anything to mitigate this.

3) Not having the right event space. Having a modern and welcoming event space will greatly help to make this a successful event series. If my potential event space sponsor falls through, I will have to find a backup. To mitigate this, I will be speaking to several backup event sponsors if the proposal gets positive traction.

What will the money actually be spent on? Do you expect any other money to come in related to this project, e.g. revenues?

4.5 ETH will be spent to purchase 6 Legendary Mythic Eggs to raffle in the first 6 events.

$1200 will be spent on a $200 budget per event on snacks and drinks. There will be 6 events total.

I will not take funds to run this and there will be no expected revenues from the project, as is.
