What is it?

Tiny Citizen is a browser game inspired by the 90's phenomenon, Tamagotchi, but reimagined for the ever-growing digital collectibles & web3 audience.

For those that don't know, Tamagotchi (which originated in Japan and is still prevalent worldwide today) is handheld device that contains a virtual friend the user must tend to in order to keep it alive, happy, and healthy. Interestingly enough, it’s a style of game that you don’t necessarily "beat" or "win" in and of itself. It’s more of an experience of having a buddy that you can play with, care for, and watch grow throughout it’s lifespan, forever.

Tiny Citizen takes this concept and extrapolates it to the web3 space. Our vision is to incorporate as many web3 communities into the Tiny Citizen universe as possible, creating a pseudo-metaverse that is home to the many NFT collections you know and love today.

The goal with this proposal is to bring the Moonbirds collection to life and make them playable characters within Tiny Citizen for holders and non-holders to enjoy. Moonbirds would be the third (but not the last) official collection to be added, joining CrypToadz and Nouns!

Those who want to try the game for free can do so at https://tinycitizen.xyz/ to get an idea of gameplay (in beta currently).

How does it benefit the Moonbirds and Mythics holder community?

-Provides a fun, web3 native gaming experience for Moonbirds

-Strengthens the bonds holders have with their NFTs and their fellow community members by sharing strategies and competing on the leaderboard

-Monthly Eth rewards for active players

-Social incentive to share progress with friends via social media, boosting Moonbirds brand strength and exposure

-Sets up an on-board ramp for broader web3 space into the Proof ecosystem

About the team

I'm Jeff, a seasoned engineer and developer that's been in crypto since 2016 with a proven track record:

- 6+ years as a professional engineer/designer

- Created Tiny Citizen from scratch

- 3 separate CrypToadz proposals funded

- 185 total “for” votes, 0 total “against” votes across the 3 props

- Total of 21E funded (most funded individual from within the CrypToadz community)

- All proposal deliverables fulfilled

- 1 CrypToadz Prop house round funded

My co-partner is Johann Fowl (aka Pixel Fowl) and he's the lead artist and co-dev behind all the lovely animations you see. He's been a great help, and we wouldn't have come this far with Tiny Citizen without his help.

Product strategy

Considering the core game logic is already in place, we just need to add the Moonbirds data to our code as another collection entry. This involves working with Moonbird metadata and modifying the in-game "citizen creator" to make the birbs configurable characters. Sounds easier said than done, of course.

Also, a large part of the work comes down to physically animating each individual Moonbird trait and converting that to workable data our game can process and use. From there, we host that data on a server to which our Unity game communicates with and viola, Moonbirds are now living, breathing creatures!

Once Moonbirds is officially integrated into the game, we won't stop there. We plan to reach out to prominent members within the Proof/Mb community to help showcase the game and help spread the word so that everyone knows about it. This includes regularly joining Discord calls and Twitter spaces to get people playing!

Technical Disclosures:

- We'd like to request the Moonbird metadata from the Proof team in order to accurately recreate each birb. Specifically, the eye color traits are not disclosed via Opensea.

- Players (holders and non-holders) would need to connect their wallets to https://tinycitizen.xyz in order to play. For security reasons, we do have warm.xyz integration which lets users play with a proxy wallet to keep their assets safe.

- Custom birbs made by non-holders are not NFTs

What are the risks?

Considering the game is already built, there isn't much risk besides the fact that people may not know about it or want to play it.

We mitigate this risk by continuing to work hard to incorporate new features and incentives constantly with the help of community feedback (list of upcoming features detailed in the next section).

Additionally, as alluded to earlier, we'll explore ambassador and outreach programs via Discord or Twitter to spread the word and get people playing.

What will the money actually be spent on? Do you expect any other money to come in related to this project, e.g. revenues?

We estimate this project to take roughly 480 working hours (or around 12 weeks). Our combined rate (dev + art/animation) is $75/hr, totaling the cost to $36,000.

We've been working internally on revenue streams for Tiny Citizen. A user marketplace where players can buy cosmetics and native in-game tokens or NFTs are a few things we're exploring (but subject to change), a portion of which may be funneled back to LS. Factors that might influence revenue streams are market conditions and community interest.

Not to mention, Moonbirds will be automatically subscribed to all gameplay updates in the future for Tiny Citizen, which would be included in the proposed cost.

Future:

Here's a list of non-exhaustive features we're planning to deliver in 2024 for Tiny Citizen (subject to change):

-Native NFT collection

-Multiplayer

-Mini-games

-PvE events

-Reward system

-In-game customization of environment

-Upgraded UI/UX

-Cosmetics marketplace

-Non-crypto login
